Dr. Daranee Seguin

Daranee Seguin is an experienced and dedicated aquaculture professional based in Bangkok, Thailand, specializing in aquaculture nutrition and feed optimization. She holds a PhD in Aquaculture Nutrition from Auburn University, where her research focused on utilizing soybean-based diets for Pacific white shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei). With over 16 years of experience in the aquaculture industry, Daranee has held key roles at leading multinational companies, including Phibro, DSM and Gold Coin. Throughout her career, she has demonstrated a strong ability to collaborate with industry leaders, researchers, and academic institutions, further establishing her as a respected expert in the global aquaculture community.

Dr. Suttisak Boonyoung
Regional Nutritionist, Cobb – Asia-Pacific, Thailand

Dr. Suttisak Boonyoung is a regional nutritionist for Cobb and serves the Asia-Pacific region. He brings more than a decade of industry experience in animal nutrition to his role as regional nutritionist. Most recently he worked at Cargill Meats Thailand as quality assurance and formulation manager.

He holds a Ph.D. from Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology in fish nutrition.



Dr. Noratat Prachom
Kasetsart University and Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand

Dr. Noratat is a faculty at Kasetsart University and has over ten years of experience in fish nutrition, feed formulation and feed processing, quality assurance and research and development in aquaculture. He has been leading as principal investigator: Aquafeedmill Pilot Plant, Faculty of Agricultural Technology, KMITL. He has also been the Formal Director of Meat and Protein Innovation Technology Center (MPIT), KMITL. His previous experience is as QA, R&D, and Formulation Consultant: Laithêiu Feedmill (Vietnam) Co., Ltd., Woosung (Vietnam) Co., Ltd., Mature development B.V. (Netherlands), Bluefalo (Thailand) Co., Ltd., Nutrition Group, Ajinomoto (Japan) Co., Ltd., and as the Assistant Managing Director (QA and formulation) of Asian Feed Co., Ltd. (Thailand). He also serves as Adjunct Faculty at Aquaculture department of Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand.



Dr. Sage Chayapechera
Researcher and Team Lead, BIOTEC, NSTDA, Thailand

Sage Chaiyapechara, Ph.D., is a researcher specializing in aquaculture biotechnology at National Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (BIOTEC), Thailand. His team utilizes advanced molecular techniques to pursue three primary objectives: (1) elucidating the impact of gut microbiota on immune function and disease resistance, (2) developing methods for monitoring and managing microbial populations within aquaculture environments, and (3) investigating the mechanisms of action for feed additives and probiotics to enhance understanding of their effects on aquatic organisms. Dr. Sage's work aims to mitigate disease risks, reduce the reliance on chemical interventions, and contribute to the development of environmentally sustainable aquaculture.



Dr. Sasimanas Unajak
Kasetsart University, Thailand

Dr. Sasimanas Unajak (Assoc. Prof.) is a lecturer in Biochemistry Department, Kasetsart University, Thailand, and currently serving as the Director of the Kasetsart University Vaccine and Bioproduct Center (KUBBIC). She specializes in fish and shrimp diseases and immunity, with a focus on developing tools to prevent and control these diseases. Dr. Sasimanas's research centers on innovative solutions, including vaccines, prebiotics, and cutting-edge detection systems. Her team has established a platform for rational vaccine design along with an effective vaccine delivery system. Additionally, they have developed an on-site disease detection kit specifically for fish diseases, supporting the aquaculture industry with timely and accessible disease management solutions.



Dr. Montakan Tamtin
Director, Coastal Aquaculture Research and Development Division, Department of Fisheries, Thailand

Montakan Tamtin is the Director of the Coastal Aquaculture Research and Development Division at Thailand’s Department of Fisheries (DOF). With a Master’s degree in Aquaculture from Ghent University, Belgium, and a Bachelor’s degree in Fishery from Kasetsart University, Thailand, she brings extensive expertise in sustainable aquaculture practices. Montakan has led numerous developmental research projects, including the cultivation of green caviar and the co-cultivation of Pacific white shrimp and green caviar, known as the “Phetchaburi Model.” Her work as a research consultant spans innovations in shelf-life extension and dietary supplement development from seaweed extracts. Montakan's recent research focuses on optimizing feed, growth, and cultivation techniques for various marine species, contributing significantly to Thailand's aquaculture industry.



Dr. Sawitri Silakes
Expert on Aquatic Animal Nutrition, Department of Fisheries, Thailand

Dr. Sawitri Silakes is an esteemed fisheries biologist and expert in aquatic animal nutrition, currently working within the Central Administration of the Department of Fisheries, Thailand. She completed her Doctor of Science in Aquaculture and Aquatic Resources Management from the Asian Institute of Technology in 2011. Dr. Laddawan Krongpong
Director, Aquatic Animal Feed Research and Development Division, Department of Fisheries, Thailand

Dr. Laddawan Krongpong is the Director of the Aquatic Animal Feed Research and Development Division, Department of Fisheries, Thailand. She holds a Ph.D. in Applied Marine Biosciences from Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology, Japan, an M.Sc. in Aquaculture from Kasetsart University, and a B.Sc. in Fishery (Second Class Honors) from Khon Kaen University. Dr. Laddawan has extensive experience in aquatic animal nutrition, aquafeed production, and quality control. With 16 years of experience at the Inland Feed Research Institute, she focused on feed quality assurance and inspection. She has also served in various roles within the Department of Fisheries, including at the Chonburi Aquatic Animal Feed Research and Development Center where she worked on aquatic animal nutrition research focusing on aquafeed quality control and feed safety. As Director, she participated in the FAO Multi-Partner Programme Support Mechanism (FMM), contributing to a project on fish waste management and fish silage production in Bangladesh, the Philippines, and Thailand.

With a background in aquaculture science and management, he leads CP Foods’ research efforts to enhance sustainable aquaculture practices, focusing on the development of innovative technologies in fish and shrimp farming. Dr. Amara Yakupitiyage, Ph.D.
Adjunct Professor / Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand

Dr. Amara Yakupitiyage is Adjunct Professor in Aquaculture and Aquatic Resources Management (AARM) Program at Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand. He obtained his Ph.D from the University of Stirling. He is specialized in designing of tropical aquaculture systems, aquaculture nutrition, and feed technology. He has supervised around 130 Masters and 30 Doctoral students, and published over 60 peer-reviewed papers.



Krishna R. Salin
Associate Professor and Chair, Aquaculture and Aquatic Resources Management (AARM), AIT, Thailand

Dr Krishna R. Salin is the Chair of the Aquaculture Program at Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand, coordinating and supervising aquaculture research and education at AIT. He is the President of the World Aquaculture Society Asian-Pacific Chapter (WAS-APC) and Honorary Director of the intergovernmental Network for the Development of Agricultural Cooperatives in Asia and the Pacific (NEDAC), Bangkok. Dr. Salin is also an Associate Editor for the Elsevier journal Aquaculture Reports and a Visiting Professor at Shanghai Ocean University in China. His research involves the development of cleaner aquaculture systems, innovative hatchery techniques, and climate-smart production and consumption. Besides, he offers customized training programs and technical consulting services to governments, researchers, and businesses worldwide, based on the AIT's Sustainable Asian Aquaculture platform.
