From November 13–22, 2024, Aquaculture & Aquatic Resources Management (AARM), AIT program at AIT conducted exclusive hands-on training on Nile tilapia hatchery management, grow-out production, and biosecurity.

We were honored to host Mr. Amar Gaikwad from WorldFish, Odisha, India. The comprehensive program included:
Farm visits to leading private farms and the Department of Fisheries Centers in Pathum Thani Province to observe advanced techniques in black and red tilapia production, including egg collection, sex-reversal hormone feed preparation and feeding, nursery management, and genetics programs.
Visits to freshwater fish landing point and wholesale market to understand the supply chain and market dynamics.
A tour of Thailand's tilapia farm model, the "Fish Production Unit" of AARM, AIT.
A one-day lecture on biosecurity led by renowned expert Dr. Andy Shinn from INVE.

This training offered Mr. Gaikwad a valuable opportunity to learn practical techniques, gain insights into Thailand’s tilapia market ecosystem, and explore sustainable aquaculture practices — key to supporting global food security initiatives.
Thank you to all who contributed to making this event a success! Stay tuned for more AARM training opportunities.
