The GIANT PRAWN 2025 Conference (GP 2025)—the seventh edition of the world’s leading international conference on freshwater prawn farming (Macrobrachium spp.)—was held on 8–11 June 2025 at the Dongwu New Century Grand Hotel, Huzhou, Zhejiang Province, China.

The conference was jointly organized by the Aquaculture Program, Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand, and Shanghai Ocean University (SHOU), China, in collaboration with the Zhejiang Institute of Freshwater Fisheries (ZIFF) and Huzhou University.

Held under the theme “Navigating Innovation and Sustainability in Giant Prawn Aquaculture,” the conference advanced sustainable aquaculture practices and strengthened global collaboration in freshwater prawn farming.

The program featured in-depth technical sessions on hatchery technology, grow-out systems, genomics, nutrition, health management, marketing strategies, and emerging prawn farming systems. An international exhibition showcased the latest aquaculture technologies, products, and services, while technical farm tours provided participants with firsthand insights into innovative prawn farms and hatcheries in China.

GIANT PRAWN 2025 successfully brought together leading scientists, researchers, and industry professionals from around the world to share cutting-edge research, innovative practices, and sustainable solutions shaping the future of freshwater prawn aquaculture.
